Entry 1: Alive?

I... lost...

Well, it looks like I'll finally be joining you Vahlok. Or so I thought... When I passed Death's warm embrace, I found myself at the gates of Sovngarde. But Tsun denied me access to the Hall of Valor, he told me there was someone who wished to speak with me. It was the chief of the Divines: Akatosh, Dragon God of Time. He, who had gifted me the Dragon Blood, so that I may call myself "Dragonborn" denied me the right to eternal peace. Akatosh justified this, by saying I had not earned such a right, not while his troublesome son, Alduin still flew the skies of Nirn. I felt light surrounding me as my spirit was sent through the very fabrics of space and time itself...

And when I awoke, I was in the room of an inn, My robes neatly folded on the dresser next to me, still in possession of the battle damage I had recieved at the summit of Apocrypha when I fought... her. My headached, but there was a fire within me where Hermaeus Mora had impaled me with his grotesque tentacle. However when I checked, there was no wound. I got dressed and headed towards the dining area of the inn to have my first meal in millennia. Though, Fate decreed otherwise. As I sat down, she was there, The Last Dragonborn. I believe her name was Vahl. I looked into her eyes and the tomes I read in Apocrypha were correct. She had Vahlok's blood running in her veins as well as that of the Dragon. How she knew I was revived, I did not know, but immediately she requested for my assistance. I questioned her, chastised her, told her that the day we crossed blades at Apocrypha, was the day she was to finish me off and send me to Hell. She said that her master: Venturian had told her that they needed my expertise in the arts of Dragonslaying. I immediately knew, Vahl was plotting against Alduin, I could feel it. Vahl was Akatosh's revision to my mistake, it was clear to me. I could've slain Alduin when I walked the earth, but I chose otherwise. And now I finally would have a chance to redeem myself. But Vahl hadn't soon forgotten of my deeds. She currently remains distrustful of me, saying I am an asset, not an ally. It can't be helped, but her Thu'um has the mastery and I was to submit to it. And submit to it as I must, I made a secret vow to watch over and protect her... if only for Vahlok...

I am not sure who this Venturian is... perhaps he is a Daedric Prince who controls Vahl just as Hermaeus Mora controlled me... I am sure I will have my answer in time. Vahl, as it seems, has mastered the Bend Will shout. She has quite a company of warriors who all submit to her. On our way back to her residence, I asked each of them why Vahl had bent their will. Turns out, none of them were controlled by Vahl, but it was by their own choice they follow the might of Vahl's Thu'um.

I will go further into detail of the members of the Company in my next entry. For now, we plan on how we are to make our move against the World Eater. But as I walk through the halls of Vahl's house, I hear a whisper... "That is all for this time" ... And it leaves me with a chill crawling up my spine...
Entry 1 of Miraak's journal.

Miraak was slain at Apocrypha at the hands of Vahl. But it seems Akatosh still has further use of him...
