Entry 11: Just Us Nords

I have always wondered why Farkas was so interested in the tales I spun about the time I walked among Dragons. The boy then made the most peculiar request ever. He wanted to go slay a Dragon. I urged him to reconsider as he was mere mortal, sure he had the power of Hircine on his side, but still a trivial power compared to the wrath of the Dov. But he was a true Nord and he insisted I accompany him. He is quite the tactician, if I may be honest. There was an evil growing in the North, and Vahl had been called away to quell the threat of Vampires, spawns of Molag Bal, leaving me as the sole resident Dragonborn of Serevin Manor. It is here, in the absense of his wife, Farkas once again asked me to take him Dragon hunting. And so, I finally relented. We traveled to the Rift and the Eastmarch holds to hunt the Dragons, and we cleared Dragon Roost after Dragon Roost. Farkas fought well for a mortal, slaying not one, not two, but three dragons nearly singlehandedly. Slaying the first two on his own and the third when I subdued it with Dragonrend. Our little hunting expedition, however was put on hold. That girl, Poet, came running to us, frantically apologizing. But for what? Poet informed us that she used the blood sample she took from me in her cloning operation. Which was fine by me, however Poet also mentioned that her cloning method wasn't as perfect as she had hoped...

According to Poet, her first clone of me was a dismal failure. The clone was subjected to fits of rage, he possessed a violent demeanor and he possessed the will to dominate all who opposed him. I was hit with the horrifying reality. Cloning wouldn't work on a Dragonborn, because while the blood used came from my body, the blood was in essence, pure Dragon's blood. What Poet had cloned, was me to my core, in the full essense of the Dragon. I personally was able to suppress these feelings through training and discipline, just as Paarthunax had done before me, but this clone... He had none of that. He was a clean slate, with all my power. Perhaps the greatest doom of our time. And it is to my horror, that Poet told me that Vahl had requested my assistance in her Vampire Purge and picked up the clone in her haste, thinking it was me. And before long, Poet bid us farewell. She was going to Castle Volkihar to assist in the storming of the Castle and to warn Vahl of her impending doom. I was stunned at what had I just heard, Farkas stood there staring at me in my current state. He asked me what I was going to do about the rogue clone, if I was going to do something. But I was only able to utter the following words as a response.

"What have I done...?"
Jen and Frea, they aren't bad people... Hopefully this provides some clarity to what happened. What happened to Miraak, and why Poet was gone for so long.

… Listening to Nord Mead while reading this… WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
